Waratahs on top of the ladder, South African teams struggling...
Business as usual in the Super 12 2005: the Waratahs are topping the class and the South African franchises struggling to make any impact on the field.
This week, Clyde Rathbone, ex Springbok youngster and new Wallaby star was wondering if a 5th team in his home country for the 2006 Super 12 was a good idea, when we see the results the other teams are getting this year...And he's right, the South African have had a rather crappy start and last week-end was particularly disappointing, with no team on the winning side...The Stormers look to be the only hope for a spot in the semis, and they will face the Waratahs on Saturday.
The Sydney lads seem to have found the good combination with Adam Freier as hooker, rather than Brendan Cannon who might be tempted by Perth, and Wycliff Palu as n6, who is the perfect teammate for the other flanker Phil Waugh. Rogers and Mckay will still be in the terraces for this game, but Grey, Berne and Hewat did a great job last week-end, so...
Anyway, THE big game will occur in Auckland with the Blues facing the Crusaders who were pretty impressive in their last bout. Spencer and co will have to show more composure at crucial moments if they want to stand a chance. They have been rather discrete so far, with the likes of Rokocoko, Howlett and McAlister being sometimes not too focused on what they were doing...Thing is, the Crusaders will be facing them Saturday and Carter, Mauger or McCaw could punish the Blues if they show the same difficulties to defend well...
Anyway, here are the fixtures for the 2005 Super 12 , week 4:
Chiefs v Reds
Hurricanes v Bulls
Blues v Crusaders
Waratahs v Stormers
Cats v Brumbies
Sharks v Highlanders
Now on, most of the posts will be in French rather than English...reason is many English speaking websites are dedicated to Rugby{and good at it} and write a lot about the Super 12 from down under, which is not the case in French. France and its medias ignore this competition and many guys are frustrated by the black out on Southern rugby...
Anyway, you guys are still welcome in "Le Super 12", and it can be a good thing for you guys to brush up your French while reading the stuff written here...{a few slangy-swearing words on top of that...}.
