PRE-SEASON TRIALS

For the coming weeks, all the Super 12 teams are getting ready for their opening game which will occur in just a month's time. During this period, they will play a few trial games against fellow national teams in which the newcomers will try to gain a spot in their starting line up.

Today, the Highlanders are having a training session to get ready for the 2 big friendlies against the Crusaders and the Chiefs.

But the things really kick off this weekend with a very exciting Reds vs Brumbies at Ballymore.
The big thing about this game will be of course the come back of Ben Tune after 2 years off the field due to knee surgery. The former Wallaby winger will start with the n13 jersey on and will be paired with Steve Kevu as centre.
Everyone will have an eye on the bunch of big baby Queenslanders who will have some playing time. The Vedelago, Niumata, Moore, Leo and co are all huge blokes expected to have an impact at Super 12 level in the coming years. Rodney Blake, aka Rozilla, 190cm for 127kg, is one of them, and the 21 yo prop should come off the bench during the game and show us what he is capable of.

To face them, the Brumbies have selected a second string team with veteran Owen Finegan and Radike Samo there to chaperon the youngsters. Let's see what the defending Super 12 champion will do against Reds eager to start their season with a winner...
